Maybe just the people driven enough to vote early are voting Dem? The Repugnicans have only fear of the Dems to drive them, certainly no accomplishments, or any realistic hope for any in the future. Total Repugnican control has led to record deficits, an unwinnable quagmire war, unbelievable levels of corruption and a crassly tilted tax system. Even a lot of Repugnicans pine for divided government. Stay the course! - not a very exciting prospect... SLC has an elected Dem mayor who leads anti-Iraq war protest marches when Bush visits. It's a slightly progressive island floating in a sea of regressive Red authority-worshipping Mormons.
