re: How much does it cost to save a gallon of gas?

How much will the Iraq war eventually cost?

You got that wrong. All of these studies are based on a flawed premise. They say the average person owns a car for 5 years, therefore, that is the amount of time that you use to calculate the cost savings of a hybrid. But that is baloney. If you are looking at things from a macro perspective, then you need to look at the useful life of the vehicle. That would be 15 years for most vehicles, but maybe 10 for a hybrid, since they're new technology. Over that time frame, hybrids (especially the Prius) are worth the extra cost.
