The president isn't a non-partisan manager. His job is inherently political.


Would you allow your staff to take paid time off work to help their friends?

Sure, I could take paid time off to do such a thing. My boss might want notice, but the president is the boss.

Also presidents typically work more than full time hours. It could reasonably be argued that the president isn't getting any paid time off.
