Surprise Gift

Richard Greene 31 Oct 06, 08:47 PM

George Bush and Dick Cheney have been working overtime (and racking up air miles) to rally conservative stalwarts in the final days before the elections, and on Monday they got a gift from an unexpected source: John Kerry.

As the president was telling the good people of Texas that the Democrats did not want to win in Iraq, his former rival was in California insulting the troops.

...

John Kerry clearly thinks he is going to run for president again in 2008. If he doesn’t have jokes funnier than this, he's going to lose again. And in the meantime, he's not doing his party any favours this year.

Kerry should have been more direct. He should have said, "Dumbyass is an idiot". No complex words or phrases or paragraphs.

Also, if any soldier in Iraq still supports your Dumbyass, then the soldier IS an idiot.

CNN poll shows 70% support Kerry, 30% Bush on the gaffe issue, saying Kerry does not owe anyone apology. That's Lou Dobb's poll, and he's a conservative.

Kerry botched a joke and hurt no one but his own pride, Bush botched an entire war and presidency and has gotten over 4000 Americans killed and made terrorism stronger.

Which is worse?

And let me leave you with a famous Bush gaffe, "The terrorists want to destroy America and so do we".

Bush was running for re-election at the time, but Kerry did not even mention the Bush gaffe. It was a silly accident, even though it's partly true, ironically.

New poll: 69% disagree with Bush on Iraq.

huffingtonpost.com

That is the real issue.

Only 30% of the country are either so dumb or dishonest that they still support Bush's disasterous Iraq policy.

President gaffes in terror speech
US President George W Bush
Speech-writers wish Mr Bush would stick to the script
In his latest gaffe, President George W Bush has appeared to suggest that his administration is forever thinking up ways of harming the US and its people.

"Our enemies are innovative and resourceful - and so are we," the US president told a high-level meeting of Pentagon officials.

"They never stop thinking about new ways to harm our country and our people - and neither do we."

His comments came during a signing ceremony for a $417bn defence bill.
