What allies?

The members of the Iraqi government and security forces that are working to stabilize the country. Iraqis who helped out Americans are translators or informers or guides.

And what makes you think they had much of choice but to work with us?

They could have become resistance/insurgents. They could have kept there head down and tried to help no one. Or they could work with us. Quite a few decided to work with us. They decided, they had a choice.

Frankly, I don't think it is possible for US to have any less credibility.

I disagree both in terms of the level of credibility you imply the US has, and in terms of how low credibility can go. To put it another way I almost certainly think the US has more credibility that you think it has, and also even if you do assume its credibility has been flushed down the toilet, that doesn't mean it can't get even worse.
