"Thats your idea of UNSTUCK?"

JDN, the biggest problem I think we have going right now in our discussions is that we are all pegged with slogans and easy answers. "Stay the Course" is used to pound one side while "cut and run" is tagged immediately on any proposal coming from another side.

Complex issues requires complex answers...maybe trial and error is the only way we will find the answer in Iraq...I do think with full confidence that the minute the mid-terms are over and the Iraq Study Group issues its report and recommendations we will see big changes in the approach taken to the Iraq conflict. What those will be we can only speculate. I think, IMHO, that benchmarks will morph closer to timelines. I think our involvement in the impending civil war will be reduced....exactly how we will have to see. But I don't believe the President or the republican bulls in the senate will allow our troops to be refereeing a sectarian struggle...

New words and phrases will be coined to explain all of this...after the elections there will be a one year period for the administration to get things where it wants them to be in 2008...because in 2008 we start all over again debating the strategy, tactics and status of our role in the war on terror and especially, the war in Iraq.

I won't give you simple, quick answers. I don't believe in cut and run (I hate that simplistic term, just as I do "stay the course"). But changes will have to come. Watch John Warner...he will be the best indicator of mood of the senate bulls...and after Nov. 8 they will have their way on a lot more things having to do with Iraq.

===> ... we can leave anytime we so feel like it and if the Dems get in power that will be very soon. <===

So, if the Democrats get into power the following will probably happen:

- The U.S. will lose any control over Iraq.

- Murderous, savage, demented IslamoFascist thugs will take over Iraq and have billions in oil revenues to spend towards destroying the U.S.

- America's enemies all over the IslamoFascist world will be empowered to think that they could destroy America.

- America would stop monitoring communications between our enemies and their cells within America.

- There would be multiple and devastating terrorist attacks within America.

- Terrorists captured on our soil would be afforded full rights to our legal system, preventing us from getting sufficient information to stop the next attack.

In effect, the Democrat Party is a Weapon of Mass Destruction against America.
