The polls show the GOP continuing to divebomb. Making up smears against Kerry will not change that. Everyone with a brain knows Kerry merely botched a joke. And he said he was sorry. Bush botched a war and a lot more. When is Bush going to apologize? And Cheney too, for deliberately lying to get us into that quagmire? Kerry's gaffe will have no affect whatsoever on the races., Anyone who mocks Kerry about this was already pro-Bush and voting GOP anyway. It's pure preaching to the choir BS, and the whole substance of it is a fabrication. Bushies know damn well that Bush was the butt of Kerry's joke, not the troops.
