Spending and Restraint

President Bush is dedicated to continuing the successful pro-growth policies that have encouraged robust economic growth and job creation. A strong economy, together with spending restraint, is critical to reducing the deficit

If he means tax cuts, or maybe even regulatory restraint I can see his argument for pro-growth policies. But I don't see much that is pro-growth about Bush's spending policies.

Tax Reform

The President has put forth an ambitious agenda to ensure that America's economy remains the most prosperous in the world. Vital in achieving this goal is the President's belief that taxpayers' dollars should be spent wisely, or not at all.

I support Bush's tax cuts, but I don't know if I'd call them tax reform. It wasn't a case of simplifying and "detargeting" taxes. Maybe this is a campaign plank for this election. I hope so, but the GOP probably won't have the strength to get such reform passed, esp. since it doesn't universally support such simplification.

Social Security

Well at least Bush tried to do something.
