<< You have to wonder how much non-LME stocks are out there ... maybe in some chinese warehouse or six ... it wouldn't take a lot of effort, zinc is heavy and compact, you don't need much, just a covered space with a good concrete floor and a sturdy forklift, you could stash several tonnes per square metre of floor space ... chinese traders have done stuff like this in ways that affected the BC forest industry, it is said ... anyway i think we should keep open minds on such possibilities, they help to build the wall o' worry >>

There was speculation over a year and a half ago that the "hidden stocks" of zinc had disappeared:

<< Teck Cominco Market Research Manager Andy Roebuck suggested Sunday that significant "hidden stocks" of zinc may have disappeared – when combined with other factors – have created a bull market in zinc that will "most likely continue for a couple of years." >>

The last of the "hidden stocks" probably was used up on the one-day 103k tonne spike in spring of '05.

Smelters and mines have a little inventory, but it's all getting depleted during this crisis. Whatever inventory is around is clearly being used up as demand grows and supply can't keep up.

As this crisis hits the fan next year, if you could find an undervalued company finishing up a feasibility study on a world-class, low-cost zinc project in a politically safe area of the world, you'd be sitting pretty. If only we could find such a company... :)

Great Words, thanks.

GGC looking steady as she goes. We have this huge base built on the stock, the "what if" is if Liller strikes gold on his 50K drilling program.

AUN looks very good but for now am just sticking with GGC and MMGG for Mexican exposure.

MMGG turner around a bit. :(
