Liar. The military are not stupid rightwing dittoheads (although there are some of those I know). Many in the military are surprisingly moderate and thoughtful people. Also 50% of the military is now minorites (and growing) and very few of those are Republicans. Military personnel are also often living just above the poverty line and the GOP doesn't give a damn about people on that financial strata.

The Dem Repub split in the military is about 45/55. Kerry got 42% of the military vote in 2004 despite 50 million in outrageouis smearvet lies, not a single claim of which was true.

Now after the debacle in Iraq, it is PROVEN to military people know who is right and who is wrong. Bush-Cheney are clearly wrong and have cost a lot of military personnel their lives. As a result, democrats have dozens of Iraq veteran candidates, almost all of whom are winning now.

Kerry is mostly seen as a smart, honest war hero leader who was right about Iraq and fights to protect veterans rights.

Bush-Cheney dodged the draft, avoided war, slashed veterans benefits, lied about WMD, and ordered the military into a quagmire without a plan, then just left them there. These Bushies like to talk tough, but they are dishonest cowards who have decimated our military. The military is largely up in arms against Bush-Cheney-Rumsfeld. Which is why most retiring generals are speaking out against those neocons.

The two Colonel friends who served in Iraq also disagree with you. They both are particularly incensed at Halliburton, and the corruption and arrogance of that company.

They accuse Halliburton of sucking up military funding and pocketing it, being overpaid fat asses, doing whatever it wants, acting like A-holes, obeying no rules or laws, cheating, gouging and ripping off taxpayer money, while using the US military as their free bodyguards.

This is Cheney-Rumsfeld's "privatization" of the military, basically meaning ripping the military and the taxpayers off for billions and pocketing the money.

One COlonel friend told me when he was commanding in Fallujah the Halliburton drivers refused to move their convoy out of the way to let the Marines through. SO my friend put a bullet through one of their windows. Does that sound like the military supports Bush-Cheney? Halliburton is Cheney's company and everyone knows it.
