are we talking about a sort of tipping point? Those rarely recognized times when the whole balance shifts, but no one knows it did until they look backwards? I like it though it's still, I hate to say this, not what I had in mind. I think Iraq "tipped" in to civil war sometime back. Marshall's point about mercenaries scrambles the reading of what's happening so a new symbolic field emerges in which the "tipping" is now past tense. It "tipped." Sorry about the language there. First cup of coffee hasn't kicked in.
