There is a Defense?????? I cannot imagine it. There are parts of almost all religions that won't stand up well in the light of modern times. Most religions have also reformed themselves to deemphasize or remove archaic religious law. Islam stands on its own it seems, having its own built in catch 22: If you question Islamic law in order to reform.....you're automatically branded a heretic, if you try to introduce change, you're branded a heretic.....
