Tim -

Kerry said "I sincerely regret that my words were misinterpreted to wrongly imply anything negative about those in uniform, and I personally apologize to any service member, family member, or American who was offended."

That second half, "I personally apologize to any service member, family member, or American who was offended." seems sufficient to me.

I certainly would not apologize for intending something that I hadn't intended.

Is it the best apology ever? No.

Is this the most important issue before us today? I really think not. This is just the Republicans, who are desparetly trying to hold on to power, trying to shift the focus from their failed strategies, which the majority of Americans have awoken to.

The majority of Americans are no longer being fooled by Bush's claims like "The war is going well. We are winning. We have a plan for victory."
