Creede: Perhaps people could believe that Saddam should have been removed..that Iraq is an integral part of the war on terror...all of that.

But the same people could be frustrated and angry about the manner is which this administration has carried out the tasks at hand. From poor planning initially, to rosy sceanarios about how we would be received in Baghdad, to disbanding and sending home (with their weapons) a mostly Sunni military. On and on.......and on.

Last week we discover that thousands of weapons paid for by you and me and given to the Iraqi security forces were not recorded or tracked adequately. Thus, when those weapons are turned against our own troops we can't identify which units we gave them to turned them over to the bad guys. A small thing? Maybe in the bigger picture, but frustrating and scary none the less.

Lets remember that the cause is one thing. How the cause is carried out is another. Many mistakes have been made. Responsibility for some of those mistakes, in planning, strategy, polics, rest somewhere. We have elections to express satisfaction and dissatisfaction with our leaders.

Next week we will all be sitting around wondering what all the voting meant...was it a referendum on the war itself..or the execution of the war...or was it local issues that moved the electorate?

In all events, nothing is black and white. Grey is the color of the day in complicated matters such as Iraq and the War on Terror. One can be a good American and distressed at the conduct of the war. One can support the troops and doubt that they are being properly served by our leaders.

"Does anyone in their right mind really believe that it was not the right thing to do to remove the terrorist Sadam from power?"

I just don't buy this nonsense that the United States has some sort of obligation to oust every "bad guy" dictator in the world. If that’s the reason we went into Iraq then why aren’t we in Burma, or China for that matter? There must be 10 African nations being run by maniacs - why don't we invade them?

The reason going into Iraq was bad is its quicksand. Things are worse now and closer to chaos than they were 2 years ago. The longer we stay the worse it’s getting - get it?

One thing I agree with Bush on is when the US leaves Iraq it will cause a great vacuum that may leave the Middle East in chaos. However it has been Bush that caused this scenario with his ill advised adventure.

We should stayed in Afghanistan and caught and killed those who attacked us without mercy and showed the world that’s what happens if you mess with the US.

Instead we have shown the world that if you attack us we will arbitrarily invade some country that doesn't have anything to do with it. Who knows – if Alquada attacks us from Pakistan again maybe we’ll invade Honduras if Bush is still in power.
