Look at the crowds lined up to use the free internet macs.

Take a look at what they're doing- 100% of them are checking email or myspace sites. Most stay for 10 minutes or longer, just surfing, then leave without buying anything.

So having made this highly scientific study at one Apple store, you feel qualified to tell us all what's happening at all of them?

Next time you visit the store, try hanging around the cash registers instead.

The number show that the Apple retail stores are making profits that other retailers would kill for. Unheard of figures for dollars per square foot. So whatever it is that is bringing people in, somebody obviously is buying.
