My friend sold an antique clock at one of those "I sold it at eBay" stores nearby. I might give that a try and save myself the hassle. It'd be worth the 1/3 commish they'd take.

Do you have a Craigslist in your town?

craigslist.org

It is free, and the people all live in your town, so there is no shipping. You meet up someplace to give them the item they've purchased. I've never tried it, but some of my friends have.

We did advertise for our garage sale on the site.
