One of my neighbors in putting in a barn,and I got to talking to the heavy equipment guy while his D-7 Cat was being loaded. He said he should have replaced his tracks last year; it was 18K then, and he thinks it may be about 28K now. He isn't gonna replace them for a while. Quality isn't as good as it used to be, either. Also said it takes him 3 weeks work/machine to do routine maintenance each winter. A day to take off the oil pan, a day to put it back, ... Stuff we never think about.
