Taikun Do you know any civil servants yourself? It appears not. Having grown up in Victoria, I know plenty. Only last night I exchanged e-mails with several old friends who were asking for my advice about what to do with the income trusts in their self-directed RSPs. Civil servants are workers and citizens like anyone else, so many of them of them own income trusts and are screaming about this just as much as anyone else. Your judgment is usually pretty solid, but you are way off base with this attempt to demonize civil servants, some of whom make large incomes, albeit just a fraction of what they would be paid for assuming similar responsibilities in the private sector, and some of whom barely make enough to be classified as middle class.
