Not true. Kerry can come back from a stupid lie directed against him by desperate partisans. It's no big deal. All he did was botch a joke at a sensitive time. Bush has made much more embarrassing gaffes, and Bush joked about not finding the WMD, which was very atsteless. Reagan once joked about starting World War III. That wasn't funny either. All politicians make gaffes. I'm sure Hillary and McCain make them too.

MSNBC panelist just stated that McCain is badly hurt by his unfair criticism of Kerry. McCain knew damn well that his fellow war hero didn't and would never criticize the troops. So basically "straighttalker" McCain openly lied to the nation on TV.
