When was the last time the US Government changed a law and cost American Investors Billions of dollars? I don't mind, the regular to and fro of investing, but the Canadian Government is too much of a wild card.

Each of us has to invest where we feel secure. I have watched as company after company has been taken over from the TSX. At the same time, I watched in amazement as companies like Bre-X happened. I don't feel that the quality is there in the Canadian Stock market, I thought Nortel should have gone to the Vancouver exchange and people's heads should have rolled. So over time, I decided that Capital is better used elsewhere. At one time, I traded Eco logic and kasten Chase, both Strong wonderful Canadian Companies, both gone. I watched with horror at the fiasco of Stealco. We had connections to Stealco since coal was delivered in Sailing ships. Same with Dofasco. I was taught the market by people who traded through the depression. and so I invest by my gut feeling, and my feeling is that Canada's best stocks have been sold off, and that our tax structure is presently such that Companies are better off being headquartered elsewhere, now that the trust option is closed, offshore ownership is the only option left.
