The GOP has taken tens of millions in bribes and sold out the country in the hundreds of billions. There is noi comparison between the mammoth institutional corruption amongst the GOP rightwing and the lone oddball Jefferson, who by the way has been thrown out, though he hasn't been charged with anything yet.

"but they're not all terminal hypocrites like Democrats"

I find that an interesting comment because in my view its really Conservatives who seem obviously hypocritical.

One need not look any further than prominent Conservatives Haggard or Limbaugh to see people obviously saying one thing but doing the other.

It seems almost the very nature of Conservatism involves a certain amount of denial and from that comes hypocrisy. How else could it appear that someone who avoided the war (Bush) is a greater patriot than someone who deliberately fought for his country (Kerry)? To the right everyone who serves is a hero except if your name is Kerry. Right wingers would rather believe all manner of unlikely events like Kerry hurt himself for his purple hearts or didn't kill an enemy combatant but only a boy who he shot in the back. That’s plain denial and hypocrisy - you cannot feasibly argue it any other way.

Limbaugh has become a clown with his moral indiscretions - but most right wingers have their head too far up their asses to realize it. He’s plainly all talk – that’s it. Most prominent Conservatives - Cheney, Limbaugh et. al. TALK patriotism till cows come home but their is precious little in their history of DEEDS that speaks to a patriotic life.

The thing is someone like Ted Kennedy doesn’t morally judge people who eat too much – if he did you would plainly see him for a fool yet he would only as foolish and similar to many Conservatives.

GW Bush said he would bring honesty back to DC. Talk about a lying hypocrite. That's the biggest one of all, right up there with Rev Haggard and his speed-snorting weinie sucking while vilifying gays as evil.

Watch the film JESUS CAMP to see Haggard accusing his congregation of evil gay acts, then promising to brainwash kids for the rightwing GOP. He might as well be speaking to a mirror.
