Republicans are still well behind Democrats. There will be some closing as undecided voters decide, especially the more conservative ones, and disgusted Republicans hold their nose and decide to vote, but Dems will still take the house pretty easily and the Senate remains a toss-up with no party holding the advantage.

Also, the Reverend Haggard, Neocon Mutiny and Military Times stories are not going to help the GOP or their turn-out efforts. Neither will the Saddam story because that only makes people realize we were actually better off before the invasion.

Democrats have no similar bad news on their side. The Kerry flay was a silly non-issue and meant nothing except Bush-Cheney are still willing to lie in front of the Amreican people.

My prediction is roughly the same as a few weeks ago, the Dems winning 20-30 seats and 5-6 in the senate. Of course there is a big difference between 5 and 6. But that's the way it is. If it weren't for jerrymandering (which I consider corrupt and unconstitutional) the GOP would lose 50-60 seats.
