Not to make too much of what your post already acknowledges...but 10,000 terrorists could potentially make 1000 9/11's--rather than merely one. "Once again, the majority of the terrorists in the world aren't in Iraq" Where are "the majority"?? "What I'm saying is that we're expending a huge effort to go after a relatively small number of terrorists" Where should we be going after a relatively LARGE NUMBER?? (presumably this would deal with the criticism implicit in your previous remark). "We can't try to impose our values upon other nations by force" It is about DEFENDING our values by force. You may not understand this but it is ALL about self defense. We are not sacrificing lives over some silly altruism. "We will never win the battle for hearts and minds with bullets and bombs." Sorry to be so blunt. The bullets and bombs are not for people with hearts and minds. They are for the mindless and the heartless. Western civilization is under attack. Do you not understand that? Did you not see 9/11? Do you not know that we have prevented many other such attacks by killing and/or arresting terrorists?? Get off your high horse and touch the real world...

But we also need to stop giving our enemies so much good recruiting ammunition. We have to actually live up to our principles as a nation. We can't torture people and deny them basic rights while holding ourselves up as morally superior. We can't try to impose our values upon other nations by force. We have to stop alienating the people in other countries who could be helping us. When we throw our weight around, we simply help to convince more of the moderate people in places like Iran that we're evil and that we're a danger to them. More and more of them become susceptible to the propaganda of the radicals. We will never win the battle for hearts and minds with bullets and bombs. In a street fight the morally superior often end up bleeding on the ground. In Gt Britain, where Muslims have been well treated, they have terrorists. Muslims have been treated exactly the same as any other immigrant group, but they have started killing the British. In Canada the children of well to do Muslims were plotting to attack the financial heart of the country and kill the Prime Minister. Who on earth is nicer to immigrants than the Canadians? We have not been using bullets and bombs and we have lost their hearts and minds. These people have been treated well, unlike Muslim countries they have freedom of religion here, we don't restrict Muslims as Muslims restrict other people, it is our moral stand, and our rights that drive them to violence. As the Australian Mufti has proved, Muslim men have no control over their sexual appetites behaving like animals at the sight of women with uncovered hair, we have to start restricting Muslims until they grow into democracy. The first step is to say to Islam, learn to live with Israel, or die. The second step is to learn that if we cannot earn their hearts and minds without bullets and bombs, then we must like Islam embrace bullets and bombs, until such time as Islam realises that death works two ways. We must make the war against Islam horrible enough that Islam wants an end to war.
