If the gulf stream switches off due to GLOBAL WARMING, yes Western Europe plunges into an ice age. Scotland is not far off the Arctic Circle. Northern lights and all that. Being dependent on Russia and France for Energy supplies (North Sea Oil is winding down) is not an ideal set of circumstances for the UK if the Gulf Stream goes. We had better get the coal mines re opened. Maggie Thatcher made a mistake closing them all down.
