That isn't what I replied to but, now that you bring it up... the subject of 'alliances'... you wouldn't be wanting to ignore the defense alliance signed between the Shiite dominated government in 'Iraq' and the government of Iran.... Many military and political observers believe that the single nation that has benefited the most in a strategic sense, from the over-throw of Saddam's Bathist Dictatorship, is IRAN. Their traditional enemy has been removed, and they now have not only FRIENDLY and CLOSE relations with the bulk of 'Iraq'... but actually a mutual defense pact, and their intelligence operatives placed throughout most of the government Ministries. Their enemy is now their strong ally... and the stronger their ally becomes the greater their combined strength is.
