The Shias, Kurds, and Sunnis will fight it out over the the ground and the oil whether the US is engaged in Iraq or not.

It is naive to label an ongoing civil war just resistance. The administration in Washington created the power vacuum that incubated "the resistance".

I wonder what the proud Islamists will label the bloody aftermath between Shias and Sunnis if the US either withdraws or consolidates in the Kurdish controlled North?
