Its possible the problems in the schools compared to other countries are exaggerated, but I agree that our educational system isn't doing a great job. Maybe its not getting worse, but with more need for educated people, and more resources going to education, we need it to get better and it doesn't seem like it is. I agree involved parents are important. My earlier point was that the children shouldn't get so much homework that the parents effectively do a lot of it for the kids. I've seen that happen.
