You don't chew snuff, you dip it or snort it. Wet or dry, it is finely ground and the nicotine is absorbed much quicker. If you dip it, you put in between your cheek and gum and flood it with saliva.

Never tried it myself. I am extremely allergic to tobacco products. But when I was in high school, probably 50% or more of the players dipped.

Naw, this is dipping snuff you stick under your tongue. Then later, you get cancers like this:
