Your absolutely right. It is very hard to get rid of baggage/garbage. Meditation, if done correctly, can help but, as you say, it is not for all. I still do it and have added Wu TaiChi and ChiKung which allows one to move and meditate at the same time. Of course, Vipasana Meditation (watching ones breath--see link below) also encourages walking between sitting sessions. Below is my favorite meditation teacher in action and a place to go for retreats. Short of going to a retreat, Larry Rosenberg allows you to listen to his basic intstructions for free--a virtual retreat. So just scroll down to Dharma Talks (audio) and to Larry R's basic meditation instructions. My wife an I spent two days at CIMC with Dr. Rosenberg and it was a marvelous experience. $100 each for the entire weekend, including great vege food. Hotel was extra.
