Your view of US foreign policy is not based on facts and logic. It is very rose colored. It should be intuitively obvious that US government represents only the interests of those who contribute to it rather than some fair and just global morality.

As it stands, we spend as much on instruments of death and destruction than the rest of the world combined. We have over 700 military bases around the globe, some of which are so huge it takes half an hour for a bus to go from one end to the other. I think that if we need that much fire power just to be safe and to protect our interests, then it should be obvious that our way of life creates far too many enemies for a harmonious life on earth and that our "natural interests" (whatever that means, may be you can elaborate on that) are engulfing the whole world.
