Short answer - No.

Longer answer - There is no inherent connection between the situations. They are very different.

1 - People are seeking individual firearms, not nukes, and bio weapons. I do think that it is the proper policy to keep nukes out of the hands of individuals but not guns.

2 - The constitution is the highest law of the land and it recognizes our natural right and grants us a legal right to keep and bear arms.

3 - In general and individual right to keep and bear arms is in the practical interest of our country.

There are more differences but those are perhaps the most important ones.
