When I posted here before Bush-Chaney, and ding-bat right idiots waged war against Iraq. This has been an upsetting period in our history and in my own family: my brother in Law saw 2 duties in Afghanistan as a trauma surgeon and my opposition to Iraq created a lot of tension between my sister, b.i.l. and other family members. Yeah, its been a long time coming. I can't tell you how many times I was accused of being fringe. When I posted on this board that going into Iraq would be counter productive (to say the least), the majority of posts bashed me a being unpatriotic ... many saying 'if you aren't with us you are a traitor!'. My point with the Internut boards and my own family was that Iraq has been a corked bottle of hostilities going back centuries and our destruction of infrastructure and government, however bad Saddam was, would unleash problems we were not preparing to tackle. There were number of people who felt that way but were told to get lost. Now that Bush has managed to open Pandora's Box he doesn't know what to do with the mess he's created. And because we are not talking about a brain trust......its stay the course; stay the course, stay the......... The dim-whit Bush regime simply mis-calculated from the start and headed the country down a ruinous path that would inevitably lead to anarchy and 250,000 killed innocent Iraqis civilians. Bush, who calls himself a Republican, has betrayed all tenets of balanced budget reform and fundamental service as a check on colloquial politics of the Congress. This is not over with this election: The war against Iraq will linger on and drain on America's balance sheet will drain our economy in years to come. No kidding. And these idiots who created the mess still don't get it. Its going to get worse before its gets better. The fight has just begun. A Republican was on CNN tonite and she said in so many words if you think we're leaving Iraq, it ain't happening. Tonite, I was talking to one of my German friends just as the polls were closing in the East. We've talked before albeit superficially about the situation here in this country but not in depth. He said to me how badly is Bush going to lose tonite. I said I don't know....we're hoping a lot. He said how can any one in this country vote for a Bushie; that Bush is such a comical figure.....he said we laugh about him here in Europe. With that, I understood that he, like many Europeans, really doesn't understand exactly what's happening in this country......the cultural split that exists here. I told him about intelligent design; about wanting to make the national religion Christian inspite of the fact that Jews, Muslims and Buddhists, about Schiavo and the BS with that etc. In a word he was shocked. He had no idea there was a part of this country that is very different from the image it presents to the world. Like I said, this is only the beginning.
