re: Did the voters really "get it," or did the Democrats just run better campaigns this cycle?

I think both. The Dems put up some good candidates, they communicated well, and people were already fed up with the Reps.

Bush handed it to them on a platter. They didn't have to do that much. Bush accelerated the ruination of the Republican party.

My apology to the US voters... they "got it". Damn it took a long time!

Did the voters really "get it," or did the Democrats just run better campaigns this cycle?

I think both the Dems and the voters 'got it' this time.

Having said that, the Dems did a great job of putting up some very creditable candidates and then running some good campaigns. More importantly, they have a new foundation going forward.....the Harold Fords and the Scott Kleebs will be back for another go at it.

My God, Tennesseans almost elected the first black senator from the South since Reconstruction Days.......who knew we had come this far. Yesterday was a good day.

And now the hard part has started.....we have to take on Bush while recognizing that the Dems have moved to the center.......both will take some compromising.
