this person grew up a scout, he went to the meetings earned all the badges, did all the stuff necessary to reach it's highest rank. And it isn't that he applied to be a scout leader, he already was an assistant Scout master, he had earned the position. He was already in the position, and they decided to take it away.

Having been a scout doesn't give him the right to be a scout master and supervise boys. There is no right for anyone to be a scout master. The scouts organization s/b free to make whatever rules they like about who can be scoutmasters.

Our kids were in scouts a few years (cub, I think) and I would have had to be troop (or pack or whatever it was) leader but fortunately there was another dad who'd do it. Many years ago - there were 4 of us dads who came to the meetings I remember.

Your problem is you think private organizations should run their rules by your opinions. They don't have to.
