34,751,200 34,487,400 24,839,000

Comparable Japan numbers from one year ago:

WCDMA ............PDC ................CDMA
========== ========= =========

18.5 million........50 million........20.7 million

As far as PDC goes from three years ago, its about 29 million down, 34 million to go.

EricL - its bad news when you see such progress for 3G subscribers in Japan yet ARPUs are in their fifth consequtive year of decline. If there's one thing we need to see its that as 3G dataplan attach rates rise, ARPUs go up. So far in US, Europe dataplan attach rates have been poor. Its interesting that the most successful device that pulls in dataplans is in fact Blackberry's EDGE devices, not even WCDMA. go figure.
