I too think forward PE's are meaningless but that is what the big fund money that drives the stock market looks at. Whether they are right or not I feel it shows up in stuff i follow closely like technical analysis, the direction of earnings estimates, sector strength, sentiment indicators and seasonal patterns(not working as well anymore<g>) ect to give me a better risk/return.. That almost makes our discussions here totally irrelevant to individual stock market investment performance. Yes everybody will eventually be proven right but if you are way too late or way too early in placing bets on your views you lost IMHO..
