OK... this is what the Israelis have been doing to some extent. And we did a relatively good job cutting down on Al Qaeda's funding. May work. But I think that things are still escalating. They progressed from the attention-getting terrorism of the 70's all the way to the bombing the WTC... and to taking control of at least one nation - Afghanistan (which they are losing). These days the talk about possible attacks involving WMD's is quite common... it is almost expected. More likely than not things are destined to become worse - before, hopefully, they'll get better.
