So far we've been told:

... Bin Laden, dead or alive.
... We have proof Saddam has weapons of mass destruction
... Saddam has ties to the 9/11 hijackers
... Iraqi oil will pay for reconstruction.
... Americans will be greeted as liberators, with flowers.
... Shock and awe!
... We don't need 250,000 troops
... Mission Accomplished!
... The insurgency is just the last throes of the old regime.
... The battle of Falluja has crippled the insurgency.
... The death of Saddam's sons is a mortal blow.
... The capture of Saddam is the beginning of the end.
... The death of al-Zarqawi has crippled the insurgency
... Rumsfeld will stay until the end of my term

After all that we're still losing 100 of our best and brightest every month. Perhaps that's why we don't believe "stay the course" either.

Judging from what I heard at the Bush say at his press conference this afternoon, he doesn't believe it either.

Stay the course is not a fallacy....this is most likely going to be another national disgrace...just as the sellout in Vietnam was....
