Apple will come close to satisfying Shuffle demand for the holiday season. Where they're likely to fall short is in satisfying the additional demand for replacements: cool as they are, these things are very small, and I'll bet 10-15% will be lost (or washed) before kids return to school in January.

"Mom, Dad, can I have another Shuffle, pleeeaaase?"

>>Let's hope they aren't too supply constrained on them<<(Shuffle 2GEN). I ordered mine from the Apple Store on September 12 and it did not ship from China until October 29. That gave Apple and its "employees" plenty of time to knock out quite a few of these little gems. They appeared in the local Walmart on Friday, November 3 as promised. But heck, a supply shortage could still be a good thing. Just like the "Cabbage Patch Doll" and "Tickle Me Elmo" craze led to lines and fist fights over them.

Stockpuppy, your turn to pick up the story line. ;)
