Context? Enlighten me. You're suggesting that perhaps Bush's frustration with constitutional limits on his anti-terrorism war powers led him to blurt out something in the heat of the moment that doesn't represent his true values?

Context? I suppose the heat of the moment also caused Bush to attempt to nullify the legislative branch by attaching all those "signing statements" explaining that he reserves the right to essentially ignore legislation he just signed?

Bush twice swore on the Bible he claims to live by that he would 'uphold and defend the Constitution', then refers to it as that "goddamn piece of paper".

Context? Kerry slipped up, skipped a word from his prepared text and altered the meaning of a bad joke. Bush milked that for all it was worth, knowing full well that wasn't what Kerry intended to say. Context? Where is the shame?
