If the logic is solid (and in my case it is) there shouldn't be (and isn't) any need to salve any wounded self image. My self-image is just fine.

You like the Iraq war so much, why don't you enlist?

This isn't a mass ware like WWII where a vast part of the population is needed. Also there isn't a great demand in the military for people of my age and weight.
