Bushie dishonest attacks on Kerry's botched joke hurt the GOP.
So did Limbaugh's attack on Michael J. Fox. So did Bush's fake endorsement of Rumsfeld and Cheney. So did Pat Dobson's offer to mediate Rev Haggard's healing from being a gay meth snorter.
So did Rove's bringing in rightwing radio talkers. All of it shurt them because eeryone now knows these people are dishonest and bad for the country.

McCain has not been helped by all this. He mainly stood by Bush again and again. In fact McCain had the power to keep Bush from being re-elected and he sided with Bush.
