Wow, you're keeping alot closer track of that stuff than I am. I didn't realize Dole and Domenici might retire. There are parts of NC that are as blue as can be. But downstate and coastal areas are Jesse Helms country.

Have no idea how it will play out, of course, but I like your 'tude.

btw, just mentioning for no reason, Jim Webb is gonna be a real goddam senator. I know I don't agree with him about everything, but hey, can't win 'em all.

Calc: How aggressive do you think the Dems will be when it comes to "checks and balances"...?

Will we see some ROBUST HEARINGS on how intelligence was used by the Administration to take us into the Iraq War...?

Will we see some ROBUST HEARINGS on reports of fraud by US Contractors in Iraq...?

Will we see some ROBUST HEARINGS on how Cheney and the oil industry developed our energy policy...?

Will we see some ROBUST HEARINGS on real election reform...? Will we ever know the truth about what happened in Ohio in 2004...?

It soon will be time to use subpoenas and get folks to testify UNDER OATH in front of House and Senate committees...The GOP provided no real over-sight in the last 6 years...they rubber-stamped ALL of the Administration policies and the American people want some accountability for what has happened.
