No wonder so many are on welfare and don't work. What a sad statement of the times we are in.

The government would be further ahead to let the woman (or man) work for whatever the salary they are educated enough to earn, and pay the difference from welfare funds. And IF the government wanted to contribute another $100 a week toward his/her education so that he/she could get a better paying job, the government would STILL be ahead!

To say nothing of the woman/man themselves, feeling better about themselves, that they are working and actually contributing, rather than always having to take.

Why doesn't anyone think out of the box?

A single mother of two working at minimum wage earns $8.00 and hour in Ontario. So her income for 40 hours is $320.00 a week. A single mother of two on welfare gets $520.00 a week, and she is the one everyone is worried about.
