The Pacific Northwest rejoices in the defeat of Pombo. We have been trying to get some wilderness protection for the Stevens Pass area and Pombo has been blocking it.

Spirit, all of Democratic Congressional reps in Western Washington won by huge margins. Jim McDermott actually carried 80% of the vote in his District. The exception was Dave Reichert, R, who appears to have won by 51% to 49%.
