Actually, you can accumulate zinc by hoarding pennies, which are 99.2% zinc: pennycollector.com

I guess when you compare pennies to silver coins, zinc is the really poor man's gold.

I know silver has always been know as poor mans gold, been in the markets since 1966, but "times are a changin" Historically there has always been more than enough zinc to go around, last year at this time there was over 800,000 tons, today there is around 90,000 and falling fast. Inventories will be depleted by March. I am a poor man and it sure looks like gold to me. Oh! by the way I can own zinc if I want to, I just have to find some....... now let me see where did I store my cache of zinc?
