"Military Industrial Complex is really no different from other big corporate interests such as the tobacco industry."

I disagree. The military-industrial-government complex shuffles players through all three of it's primary "divisions", with the military part being the duty that pays the least. But they make up for that by shuffling the military guys into the industrial or government "divisions" following their military "service".

Other corporate entities don't use that military farm team to draw from to anywhere near the extent the M-I-C does. And the government unit is there to castigate ANYONE who dares to impugn the motives of the M-I-C as "weak on defense" or even a "traitor". The whole operation has been institutionalized to a far greater extent than other corporate collusion with government. The M-I-C's profits come directly from taxes on the American people. The military guys who later move to the corporate or government branches ORDER the buys of the weapon systems, and the government branch guys pay for them with our tax dollars. At least the tobacco companies had to SELL us cigarettes!
