excuse me for laughing...I don't know, maybe they'll all get along somehow...I think Bush defers to women for some reason, so maybe things will change for the better...it could happen.

Re: "they want Bush skinned alive"

I don't think so.

That would be self-defeating.

If they are *partisans* (and, I believe you are assuming they are, so I'll go with that assumption here), then Bush is FAR MORE VALUABLE to the success of their partisan Dem cause if he can be kept on top as a viable foil for all that goes wrong.

The *longer* the emergence of a viable Republican successor (the Rep. presidential candidate for '08) can be DELAYED (by delaying the diminishment of Bush into Lame Duck irrelevancy), the greater the gain for the Dem's partisan cause.

Nope... the maximum *partisan* gain for Dems (if that is indeed what they want) is achieved by keeping the 'sick man' of American politics propped-up and still swinging wildly for unpopular causes, as a bete noire, a brush with which to tar other Republicans.

The *Republican* challenge, of course, will be to move beyond Bush II, and on to a new and popular standard bearer.
