Most people believe that the election of 2004 was a referendum on appointing Judges. Since Democrats did not have any unified platform except BDS and they kept their leaders under wraps leading up to the election, they cannot claim to have a mandate.

What most worries me is that the electorate has rewarded the Four year olds' temper tantrum. Children don't learn to good social behavior from having tantrums rewarded.
