It was not necessary to tag the "death tax" onto the federal minimum wage bill. They are separate and distinct...but the republicans would not deal with on without the other, despite hope from many republicans that they would.

While we continue to want to cut taxes (a laudable goal), how are we going to pay for all these cuts without any spending restraint? Why don't the advocates for the elimination of the death tax match its revenue loss with specific cuts in government programs to pay for it?
